Ukraine counter offensive have failed

A bit late to the party. Most of us knew this weeks ago.

No major Russian defence line penetrated, no major town captured. Massive Ukrainian casualties, out of proportion to Russian casualties.

The amazing thing is that it is continuing and the few major uncommitted Ukrainian Brigades are being thrown into the fire.

This leaves virtually no strategic reserves, and what is left of the army will fold when the Russian offensive begins. I told you before, they will take Kiev.

The striking non sense that western mainstream media puts out rivals the same level of GW2

This is a sign of the death of a free media in the west. Journalists are little better than paid government civil servants. There job is to maintain and push the government narrative. All media sources will push the same narrative, and anyone who doesn't comply is derided and de-platformed.

I am hearing about Alleged Russian surrender for a long time, some PDFians even claim that Russians will surrender within few weeks/months, so far I don't think they (RU) are in any mood of surrendering or backing down.

They have been brain washed

The counter offensive has totally failed.
The Ukrainians are losing 25 - 30 armored vehicles per day.
When any military loses that much assets, think how or with What are they going to fight next day?

Also the momentum of average soldier of Russian army is with them not with Ukrainians soldiers, moral is totally low.

It is true that the Ukraine counteroffensive has failed to achieve key objectives. However, to make a leap from that and claim that the fall of Kiev is inevitable is quite a stretch. This war is in a state of stalemate where neither side has the strength to force a decisive outcome. It will ultimately be decided by whether Western support for Ukraine outlasts the support of the Russian elite and military for Putin. Both sides are in a state of fatigue.

if Russians could not capture Kiev or Kharkov in the opening days of the war they never will. From the perspective of Europeans the Ukraine war is cost effective way of draining Russian military strength. That is true 2 years ago. that is true now. Nothing has changed.

of course you will have a few constipated fools who cheers the Russians. Of course they won't do the fighting. What else is new ?

Ukrainians will be getting F Solas soon, let's see if that makes any difference in their fortunes.

And what will draining Russia conventional military strength accomplish? It's not like another country will take advantage of depleted Russian conventional defences and invade...

Ukraine and Russia are locked in a very intense and high stakes conflict, battles this intense between regional rivals were last witnessed in World War 2.

It is premature to claim that the Ukraine's latest counter offensive has failed. Ukrainian forces have lost more tanks and armored vehicles to "mines" than to Russian forces in ongoing clashes. Due to this reason, Ukrainian forces are fighting and advancing carefully in some locations. Blitzkrieg is not possible in view of so many mines and trenches and Ukraine's current military inventory. But Ukrainian forces are putting up a good fight on the whole.

War against a capable side is won though patience and commitment, not by those who are bored.

It was avoidable war but sad to see the mass casualties . Russia thought that they will win war within 1 month but Ukraine are defending very well.

Indeed.

One of the main reasons the Ukrainian Air Force has been able to stay in the fight is its ability to move its aircraft around the country and still have the enough airstrips with stocked supplies capable of sustaining air combat operations.

This is but one example.

Ukrainian ground forces were barely visible in the first month of the war but they are challenging Russian ground forces out in the open and on a scale that mujhaideen in Afghanistan never could. Ukrainian ground forces do not have much to show in tanks but they are making excellent use of artillery systems including HIMARS in ongoing clashes.

On the other hand, Russians have exceeded all expectations in terms of challenging Ukrainian forces. If Russia had shown this much commitment to war in Afghanistan, it would have defeated mujahideen and turned Afghanistan into a Russian colony. Russian army might be much stronger than Soviet army of the 1980s though.
