JF-17 Block-3 -- Updates, News & Discussion

F-16 could do it because AIM-9's weight difference with AIM-120 is not that high. Same is not true of PL-5/PL-12.
Also, the real question is can it carry dual PL-15s similar to J-10CE?? I believe we haven't seen any image with Thunder carrying those bad boys....

Can another pair of dual racks fit on the inner pylons?

I hope you will get my point.

Would t it be a better question to ask is the max weight each pylon can carry.
This would then allow people to work out if we can deploy dual or triple racks on each pylon.

Valid point.
However judging from these pictures I think a growler-lite should be possible by Equiping wing tips and in pylons with more pods,(if power requirements are possible to be met*) and possibly even more electronics conformaly on the fuselage spine or at the expense of the gun and some fuel,
whilst still being able to carry upto 4 pl12/ld10/mar-1 's and a fuel tank.

Or ig at this point j10c starts sounding like a better option lmao.

Jf17 is a light fighter. We must not compare it to a medium weight for stores.

Actually, a dual rack of PL-15s would be significantly lighter than payloads it already carries on the inner pylons, Fuel tanks, bombs etc. Weight isn't an issue, it's more to do with the fact that the inner pylons aren't configured for missiles internally.

The inner wing pylons should have a Fuel tank/missile rail combo

Bhai. With due respect aircrafts are armed in view of what the fight involves. In the Indo Pak scenario you will hardly see any A2A eencounter with JFT armed with 4 PL15, 4 PL 12/SD10 A/B + 2 PL5Es . The max loadout will be centre tank plus 4+2. Without the wing tanks the JFT'S loitering time will be significantly reduced. It is a light weight fighter. Even the MKI will not be seen with a loadout of more than 4+2 in a war theatre. Dont expect a light weight fighter to act as a bomb truck otherwise refer to the picture. There is no sense in overloading a light fighter only to lose it or jettison ammo to make a run for it.
Rest I leave upto you wise people.
