Why Bengali Muslims are exceptional

Bengalis are the biggest backstabbers of Islam.

Forget about they talking about Kashmir but they even do not support the Muslim brothers in Indian Bengal, Assam or Rohingyas in Myanmar.

They are one bunch of selfish B******

Good riddance! from Pakistan.
This is a false flagger, he is not Pakistani.

Pakistanis have great respect for their Bengali Muslim Brothers. We can't change the past, but we can certainly change the future if we work together. From Pakistan.

When you say we piggy backed on muslim league.... well yes we did, it was our vehicle we created the muslim league.

Within british raj the only area where muslim league had political power was Bengal. Who ran the provincial Bengal muslim league.... umm here is a surprising answer .... muslim bengalies.

We kicked the shite out of the hindus so bad in culcutta in direct action that you could not wait to finalise the partition before you cowards got your arse handed to you across the subcontinent.

We consider ourselves a sovereign Muslim state tracing our lineage back to delhi sultanate. We forced the british to establish of bengal parliament and we were the driving force for the partition.

The facts are there.... absolutely nothing changes and at no times BD is remotely phased by the likes of your gibberish. We split india and pakistan for our sovereignty. You are free to lick your wounds and change the narrative to give a false impression that you had slightest control or power to stop us.
This is overall a good reply but there is a small correction. The origin of Bangladesh is independent Bengal Sultanate not Delhi Sultanate. Bengal Sultanate broke away from Delhi Sultanate in 1352 AD and lasted till 1576 AD when it was absorbed by Mughal Empire. It was a powerful and prosperous Sultanate with extensive maritime trade and links with Ottoman Empire, Chinese Ming Empire, South East Asia and even Africa.

But your main aim of direct action day was not achieved. Calcutta still a part of India.
Muslim league govt in 1947 was an incompetent govt. It started the riot when partition was almost finalized. And it couldn't save the Muslims who brought them to power. Around 10000 Muslims died, way more than Hindus.
Trivia - Just to mention we have more than 4 crores of Bengali Muslims in India. Never heard from anyone that they want to live in BD.

Bengal always was, is and will remain the king maker of the subcontinent.

RSS butthurt goons can lick on that.

No one will, but none of them will be displeased either.

The only ethnic group in South Asia brave enough to forge their own nation.

It means we don’t have to expand money and energy on separatist movements.

Our politics is not poisoned by ethnic and religious bigotry.

Even more exceptional is how we evolved into an independent nation.

We first escaped British India by joining Pakistan.

We then left Pakistan through an independence struggle where a mere 25k+ Bengali Muslims died.

This is why an overwhelming majority of Bengali Muslims aren’t bitter towards Pakistan. In fact very grateful that Pakistan was a bridge to our own Bangladesh.

Bangladesh Zindabad.

I am of the view that Bangladesh should have been a separate state since 1947. That way, we would have been staunch allies till today and future.
We can still start over and forge trust and good ties.

Didn't happen due to the despicable lot of "hindutva".

Major Bengali leaders like Sher-E-Bangla, Shorwardi, Mawlana Bhasani, Deshbondhu Chittaranjon etc. supported an independent Bengal.

Even Jinnah supported them initially, until Gandhi adopted the hindutva agenda of dividing Bengal.

An independent Bengal would have easily neutralised the hindutva strategy and balance the geo-politic of subcontinent and near South East Asia.

Excuse me,but aren't you the ones who try to appease India every time something happens? And always try to be on the best terms with Hindutva India, when anti-Muslim incidents happen?

Pakistan and BD must absolutely cooperate. We have the same and absolutely surmountable enemy.

On a personal note 1971 was a terrible event and an absolute political failure. We must get beyond that. We were one country once for a reason, for all that separates us are mere cosmetics to all that unites us.

BD population are not anti pakistani and the PK population are not anti BD. Politics is a dirty business but it has no power to pollute the minds of the respective countries population for long as no one really forgets the central tenet of our Identity which is islam. Any argument between PK and BD is surface level gibberish.

Sure but the seeds of nationhood springs from the Delhi sultanate. Bengal sultans fought the mughals and then entante was achieved through intermarriage.

tbf its more hasina's thing than Bangladeshi even historically- They and UP-ite Muslims have always played an important role in the politics of south asian Muslims - UP muslims are in a very tough spot currently and bangalis are tolerating Hasina

The Pakistani populace "beef" started more due to partition killings and than Kashmir who are like historically connected with our region, it wasn't as naturally "engrained" in us historically speaking compared to Bengali and UP-ites if you know what I mean

We could take an adversarial position. Would that help India or BD.

As an underdeveloped country we are laser focused on our economy safe in knowing that 170m can not be threatened by anyone.

The best response to hindutva in india is a strong economy. BD is one of the largest importer of indian goods and source of foreign remittences. Hindutva will be tamed by trade and interdependence. No one in BD is pro hindutva.

We could take an anti hindu stance but what country has ever developed by disenfranchising a part of its population? BD seeks progress for all its people within its border. Our non engagement seems cowardly but even hasina has spoken out about BJP policies. Peace within our borders is the primary aim, we will see what future hold but in real politics we will forge our future and fight the battles at the right time ensuring certain victory. Very little is achieved in screaming without a plan.

Brilliant post!

I dont have any opinion on flags, what we have is fine i guess. But the historical flags are as follows. Green and red are our colours from the very beginning and remains so to date.

I understand,it does make sense. I gotta ask though, how do more than 100,000,000 people fit IN THAT COUNTRY?! If one country in the world needs Lebensraum, that's Bangladesh :P
