Featured Several killed as Modi's Bangladesh visit sparks violent protests

But there is no comparison you see. I don't think there will be women's rights activists in BD who will demand rights or position to the exclusion of others in society.

Mullahs are misguided people. Do you think otherwise ?

@jamahir
The protests in Bangladesh are across ideological lines. Left wing groups like the Bangladesh Progressive Students Association have been as vociferous in opposing Modi's visit.
You are focusing on the attire of a few people in one section of people protesting. I would say look at the bigger picture. There are Hindus in the PSA also and yesterday the Bangladesh police have arrested Nipun Roy a Hindu woman politician of the BNP for opposing the ruling establishment. ( Link )

The anti-Modi protests have degenerated into communal violence just as the initially secular anti-CAA protests in India degenerated into communal violence in February 2020.

Yes, yesterday you had kindly given me some information about the other components of the protests. My previous post was one stream of discussion.

I did not understand one thing. I think I am not wrong in thinking of BNP to be close to the Jamaat-e-Islami. How come there are Hindus in BNP ? How comfortable are they ?

Yes.

I think you don't realise your own cognitive biases which are obvious to others from the wording in your post.

To help you see, imagine there was University student protest in BD about female rights. Police had cracked down and shot some female protesters dead.

You comment:

Unfortunate.

But woman at 0.09 is wearing jeans and uncovered. Trying to be more Western than Westerns.

He is an anti religion bigot

Basically he is a foot soldier for sanghis. Only difference is that he presents himself as a friend of Muslims

But he is far worse than RSS, VHP, Bajrang Dal etc

 I suppose you will say the same for Shehla Rashid, Umar Khalid, Arfa Khanum Sherwani and Rana Ayyub. You are so deep into contradictoryness.

So Modi responsible for police killing their own citizens? Intelligent humane policing should have been used

Hasina govt launched BD into never before seen economic growth...

1) Modi-butcher of Gujrat and muslims hating scum not welcome in Bd. Message us clear so stay the f out if you have any shame.
This won't end well for Hasina

Killing own people for a scumbag like Modi

India didn't help her father. It won't help her either

Just like her father, people will loathe on her once demised.

A total of 18 vehicles were set on fire on Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Narayanganj centring the hartal called by Hefazat-e-Islam.

At the same time, 10 members of police were injured during the violence, Siddhirganj police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Moshiur Rahman said while confirming the matter to Dhaka Tribune on Monday.

The OC also said police fired some 4,000 rounds and nearly 150 teargas shells to bring the situation under control.

“Police is now preparing to file a case in connection the incident,” he added.

Hefazat-e-Islam enforced the countrywide dawn to dusk general strike on Sunday, protesting the killing of its activists by police and the attack on them by supporters of the ruling party on Friday, during their demonstrations against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Bangladesh.

Of the 18 vehicles torched, 9 were large trucks, 5 covered vans, one small covered van, one BRTC bus, and one microbus.

Apart from that, more than 100 vehicles, including a car of news channel News24, were vandalised.

Earlier on Sunday morning, Hefazat activists took position on Dhaka-Chittagong highway in support of their hartal and clashed with the law enforcers, leaving at least 30 to 40 people injured.

During the hartal, three vehicles were set ablaze by the strike supporters. The arson attacks caused the suspension of traffic movement in the area.

Police said the movement of vehicles resumed after the hartal supporters left the highway around 6:30pm on Sunday.

But, suddenly a group of miscreants unleashed mayhem and torched vehicles, creating panic among transport workers, commuters, and travellers.

The OC said 15 vehicles were set on fire from Signboard to Shanarpar areas at night.

He also suspects that BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami activists might have carried out the arson attacks on the vehicles after the hartal hours under the banner of Hefazat.

It was learnt that three people, including a medical doctor, sustained bullet injuries during the clash between Hefazat supporters and members of law enforcement agencies.

The injured are now being treated at different hospitals, including Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.

1) I agree on the point that people need to kick out illegally occupied governmented led by Hasina.

2) Hasina is surviving because of India's unprecedented support for her.

3) People of Bd dispensing hate against modi and India because of point numer 2 above.

No, bhai. Not all the Pakistani members are like that. Areesh is one of the "special ones".

all these people you quoted above are supporters of pakistan which want to rule hindus .they want another pakistan in india ,

Again, no, bhai. They are good people. Maybe they want friendship with Pakistan - which I want too ( please read this solution of mine for Kashmir ) - but can you find me a single statement of theirs which desires betrayal of India ? Or a single statement which wants to bring back, say the Mughal empire in India ? :)

This is utter non-sense.

Arfa Khanum and Rana Ayyub are individual journos, you have to be an idiot to compare them to religious militant organisations like RSS, VHP and Bajrang Dal.

Protest is part of the democratic process and not sure how calling Modi the Butcher of Gujarat is being rude.

@jamahir

How come there are Hindus in BNP ?

Just as there are Muslims and Christians in BJP

Regards

I will process that info given time. Something is missing.

This is utter non-sense.

I was just making a comparison with people who share at least a bit of thinking with me.

Areesh mian is associating me - a known leftist on the forum - with right-wing Hindutvadis.

Except Rana Ayub all other are idiots and completely useless. Umar khalid is an atheist I think. Arfa Khanum Sherwani. Lol. Not even worthy to say anything about her

If these are your ideals then that further confirms my believe that you are a foot soldier for sanghis. An islamophobe who claims himself to be a muslim

Yes

He is your guy
