At the same time, we should present clear, significant incentives. In exchange for demonstrable Pakistani cooperation, the United States should offer to mediate disputes between Pakistan and Afghanistan; help establish a trade corridor from Pakistan into Central Asia; and ensure that Pakistan’s adversaries do not use Afghanistan’s territory to support insurgents in Pakistani Baluchistan.

very selective reading and doctored heading, how about rest of the article. I reckon the article is also pointing that Pakistan is supporting terrorists and should be perused to choose between USA or extremists.

You didn't mention your views about the selective reading by Bill. Want to avoid the topic. :azn:

Yes now he needs to bring forward the evidence and identity of foreign hand as well! we are waiting and time is ticking. We will not let corrupt Afghan gov back stab us!

aaahhhh, it seems some Indian member / members have a problem with the first post and the meaning being driven out of it as well as it being thanked by senior members rather to be exact by a mod thanking it, without knowing why it is being thanked

Had the afghan territory not being used for terrorism inside Pakistan, Zalmay wouldn't had mentioned the need, but since he mentioned the need, it means he knows it too that things are not OK and something is being done from Afghan territory to bring unrest in Baluchistan and Pakistan.

So whatever suits you best, take that meaning out of it, what suits us, we will take the meaning out of it.

No need to report the post since you don't like it as his statements points to someone doing something from across the border.

Key points from the link

1. USA needs to get tough on Pakistan

2. In the region and in the wider war against terrorism, Pakistan has long played a vital positive part — and a troublingly negative one

3. Pakistani security services have worked with the Central Intelligence Agency to capture hundreds of Qaeda operatives

4. At the same time, Pakistan gives not only sanctuary but also support to the Afghan Taliban and the Haqqani terrorist network. This has hampered US military efforts; contributed to American, coalition and Afghan deaths; and helped sour relations between Kabul and Washington.

5. To induce quicker and more significant changes, Washington must offer Islamabad a stark choice between positive incentives and negative consequences.

6. The United States should demand that Pakistan shut down all sanctuaries and military support programs for insurgents or else we will carry out operations against those insurgent havens, with or without Pakistani consent

7. In exchange for demonstrable Pakistani cooperation, the United States should offer to mediate disputes between Pakistan and Afghanistan

8. and ensure that Pakistan’s adversaries do not use Afghanistan’s territory to support insurgents in Pakistani Baluchistan

9. Finally, the United States should facilitate a major diplomatic effort focused on stabilizing South Asia. This must involve efforts to improve relations between India and Pakistan

10. Instead, the Obama administration should be forcing Pakistan to make some choices — between supporting the United States or supporting extremists

Just one point here. The article talks about American assuring Pakistan about preventing Afg from being used to promote insurgency in Balochistan. It could very well be the result of Pakistan's continuous fear of India gaining a foothold in Afg instead of actual present usage of Afg for that purpose.. Isnt it?

We have been sayin at since long~!

Its time to finish the roots of this problem..... i suggest assasinations of all those elements in afghanistan creating unrest in Pakistan.

Enough is enough! if usa or afghan govt. cant stop it we should.... by any means.
