Confined Pakistani scholars in China vs. Thousands returning via Iran

Does this reflect racism in Pakistan's state policy?

Stop addressing him. He is not here to satisfy you on Iran. He is here to troll against China.

Explain to me what your problem is with Iran.

Hope at least you are well satisfied or you need more proof?

Like I said, these are routine visits by mostly pilgrims.

The virus has struck in many places. The government should highlight and restrict movement to places that have been struck in greater numbers.

When have I been debunked?
Do you deny these facts?
1. The policy of not getting students back was formed before Jan 30. During this time number of confirmed cases in Hubei laone were LESS than what they are now out side of Hubei.

2. Other outbreak centers of this disease have appeared as was expected, including one in Iran where there is a long land border.

How do you justify having students stuck in Wuhan when you have these massive sources of influx of people potentially carrying the virus.

And last but not the least, this virus is ACTUALLY NOT AS DEADLY. In India, from what I gather all three cases of Coronavirus have made full recovery.

This insistance on not bringing students back seems only based on politics and nothing to do with a medical policy.

I suggest to all forum members to ignore this China hating Indian rat. The more you engage this fool the vile he gets. Absolutely ignore and humiliate this RAT.

As for Iran, certainly there is a threat, however, Iran cannot initiate an urban quarantine process like China can. In Wuhan, there is minimal contact between people because of the lockdown. This reduces the risk of Pakistani citizens remaining there being infected. In Iran, such a rapid lockdown will be harder to achieve because of infrastructure and social differences, particularly the mullahs having absolute control and at times willingly being ignorant of scientific facts and principles. Hence, leaving Pakistanis in Iran would be more risky for those Pakistanis themselves. Having said that, it is clearly an emerging risk and after whatever "pilgrims" have returned, the border should then become heavily restricted. The OP has a point, although he is clearly sectarian influenced in his approach.
So answer me this then, when you have these additional folks potentially carrying virus coming BACK to their homes, how do you justify keeping students in Wuhan?

Also, it was not hard to predict this. Heck, I, someone who is rather lay in terms of medical knowledge had predicted that sooner than later you will have people carrying this virus into Pakistan from places other than China and Hubei. How do you justify leaving those students stranded in China?

Coronavirus outbreak: Zafar Mirza says passengers being screened at border crossing with Iran
Web Desk On Feb 23, 2020
ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on National Health Services Dr Zafar Mirza Sunday said well-trained staff are present at the Taftan and other border crossings to screen all passengers crossing over into Pakistan.

“All passengers are being screened before their entry into the country,” said Zafar Mirza

Dr Zafar Mirza said thus far no case of the deadly virus has come to light in the country. The special assistant said the government stands ready to deal with any eventuality.

Meanwhile, the Balochistan govt has imposed emergency in the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) on the directives of CM Jam Kamal.

An emergency centre has been set up at Taftan border crossing with Iran with doctors posted to screen Zaireen coming from the neighbouring country.

It must be noted that Chief Minister Jam Kamal Alyani had a telephonic conversation with Prime Minister Imran Khan and his Special Assistant on National Health Services Dr Zafar Mirza to discuss measures to deal with the virus threat.

Iranian health authorities have reported five deaths in the country by the coronavirus outbreak that began from China’s Wuhan city. A further 18 people have been tested positive for the virus in Iran.

The outbreak in Iran began in the city of Qom, an often-visited religious destination. The health ministry official Minou Mohrez warned it had since spread to several cities, including the capital, Tehran, official IRNA news agency said.

The Central Health Establishment facing shortage of the staff to monitor the movement as its staff is required to be deployed at the airport and the border crossing.

I guess and hope, it is high time that the Pakistan authority bring their students back home. If they can screen folks coming back from Iran, then they can also screen folks coming back from Wuhan.

My beef is with open hypocrisy and racism on social media and Pakistan's state policy.

What is your beef with Iran specifically? Almost every topic you touch has anti-Iran feelings.

We also understand that our relation with Iran isn't the easiest for a variety of reasons including geopolitical competition. We also understand that Iran wants to keep good relations with India and this directly undermines Pakistan i.e. Chabahar. Additionally we understand the religious and ethnic game played in Balochistan. We understand all of it.

Despite all of this we cannot boycott Iran in its entirety. It is a neighbor that shares a border. We cannot shut the door completely. We have to talk and interact.

Why same screening was not applicable on handful students in Wuhan province?

Exactly my point... it's open show of racism or whatever you call.

Iran doesn't have that many cases China. The center for this virus is China, not Iran

LOL! Oh the irony!

I am going to make sure you are boycotted on this forum LOL Just wait and see you China hating troll. You picked the wrong person. I have had enough of your ugly presence on PDF. I am going to actually work on disgracing and boycotting you personally. You shouldn't have provoked me. Your days are numbered now.

This is why you get called names, like idiot for starters. Raw number of cases doesn't matter. Density of cases, infrastructure, risk of further spread are what matter. This is still quantifiably high in hubei. So your point about raw numbers is hubris.

Iran cases are recent, China ones are old. China is also where the virus started forum. Statically there is less chance of virus spreading from Iran then China.
