Through decades this country has been in grasp of wealthy feudal
who have systematically not only tightened their grip on power but they have
corrupted and destroyed the system so much that it can not repair it self.
Have calm look at the following video; it's a report by NYTimes

PS: please also check out the two videos on page 6 (specially the second long one), you will not regret this lesson.

Why Non Resident Pakistani's always criticize Pakistan while comfortably enjoying life outside desh ?

Is it mother (Pakistan) vs wife (abroad) ? Saas-Bahu ?

It's hardly any wonder that these kids grow up confused.

i guess the most critical things for Pakistan to implement are land reforms and quality education. with these in place, you will gradually see the emergence of a more robust middle class- wont happen overnight and may take a couple of decades, but given the current quagmire the country is in, there is no short cut available.

Of course, in the back drop of widespread insurgency and terrorism, this becomes all thet more difficult to implement, but unless someone takes the bull by the horns, nothing much will change.

I thought there was a difference between a non-resident Pakistani and an ex-pat worker.
After living all my life in Pakistan and having served in several institutions have I moved here.

Us ex-pat worker form the biggest revenue stream back in the country.

that is correct and the only most probable place a bull master like so can emerge is through a
martial law.
revolutions, revolts, politics are just too infested and too dangerous at this point in time.

Until this stupid wadeera and sardari system does not end and a quality education with emphasis on civics rather than religion and jihad which teacher the importance of paying taxes versus killing infidels for the good of community welfare.

Becasue every one pays taxes - in world , that is how gov is managed - we need a CRUSH down , jail + services inturruption

Lets make a big Jail in deserted area and start thowing in ppl who have not filed in tax there :coffee:

I am sure we can colled 20 billion dollars

Why has Pak not done away with this feudal legacy?

How can you move forward with this mill stone around the neck ? India removed this in the 50's & 60's. Even privy purses were abolished within 25 years of independence.

Pakistan is a begger because it's institutions are weak and corrupted...by a handful of Mafia type Landlords. When I look at the history... of Pakistan during its early years of existence..its economy was fairly decent and there was potential to be an Asia Tiger...such as Singapore, South Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan. However that obviously failed with Marshall Law being installed in the country, sanctions on Pakistan in the 90s, the elites having a monopoly hold on key resources of Pakistan such as flour so prices were hiked up and the fact that the police of Pakistan is at a terrible state.

But I must say oversea's Pakistani's have done a poor job in trying to help Pakistan to stand on its own two feet. The reason is when I look at the Chinese, a lot of them worked extremely hard in the 70s annd 80s and they took there expertise back to China. The Indians are another example of people who have worked hard...yet gave back to there Nation, so that it could develop. Oversea Pakistani's have failed in this regard.

The day people stop complaining and start acting. Today we have everyone in Pakistan ready to complain but no one wants to act. Every one would say politician are corrupt but no one wants to be politician. Gradually the victim mindset has gone into the minds of people as. they are the victims of god what they can do as if god was selective in approach for them.

I see a self introspection..among the Pakistani community here and elsewhere...its a positive thing..hope this will galvanize to something more productive..and as posted in video's above thr r some nice principled people who can lead & motivate the common man.. But someone has to kick those feudal blood sucking LEECHES out

I agree with you.....however many who do stand are killed....simply because the elites of Pakistan have too much power....this type of power should have been destroyed by the Pakistani goverement during its early years of existance...but it failed.

Man you need to create the competing media so that they dont get hijacked by politicians. In india we have media which has to compete so much for TRP. now government and elites can buy 1 channel not everyone so at the end of the day media is able to report. Dont know if there are something like tehelka and sting operations from pakistan hardly heard about one. But ones things start getting out in media whole media gets into competition.
