Wikipedia made reference of it.Check out wikipedia page on JF-17 operators list.

There is one YouTube video which basically dissects this issue and the conclusion after lots of details was this JF-17 deal with Myanmar was initiated and struck by China and not Pakistan and China have just under 50% share of the Joint Fighter-17.

And China has the clout and good relations with Myanmar...it is not Pakistan prerogative to cancel this deal initiated by China, don't know the final outcome as yet.

The video is in English subtitle after initial seconds, the V/O is in urdu.

And Pakistan Affairs is a relatively good YouTube channel.

A misconception.

China has 100% share of FC1 which Myanmar is buying. PAC has rights to manufacture 58% of the airframe of JF17 which Pakistan is operating.

It is just the same fighter with two different names.

That's because Pakistan is the sole operator and no other variant exists except as a prototype for Myanmar. In reality, JF17 is the MKI to FC1 which is the Su30.

China has full rights to the design and can do and sell as they please. The only rights PAC has is to produce 58% of the airframe for PAF. Nothing on the design. Of course Pakistan can also make more and more subsystems as the capabilities improve. But these are not rights, just license.

I'd like to hear the opposite from other members of course.
