These are the so called Haredim.

Actually, initially the Haredi Jews were anti-Zionists and against the state.
But when Ben Gurion promised the Haredim benefits and subsidies (such as exemption from military, funding for religious studies) they decided not to undermine the state, and made a deal with Ben Gurion.

Now that the subsidies are being taken away, we may see scenario where the Haredi Jews once again divests itself from the state of Israel and Zionism.
