Small countries may be good at just a few sports due to the size of their population, but India? Indians never cease to amazed the world.

Its not the question of 'few sports'. Its a craze. Indians are so invested in Cricket that rest of the sports do not even figure anywhere.

I give you an example. Abhinav Bindra, an Indian who won olympic gold for India is completely unknown in India. He didn't received any help from Govt or any corporate sponsor. He achieved gold inspite of being born in India. A country where no other sports is given any kind of weightage leaving cricket.

Meanwhile even the worst of cricketer will be known in India. Its simply what Indians like to obsession. In every damn street there are people playing cricket, heck even without cricket kits. Its that big of a craze. Where will excellence come if Indians don't even bother about it.

I can say similar about China btw too. Where is Chinese team in FIFA? Or in Field Hockey?

Why the heck you are so defensive. No one is saying China is weak in sports. I was merely pointing out that Chinese have a tendency to hold athletics on pedestal while neglecting team sports. Indians do that too, but our choice is that of Cricket and hence we have a great cricketing scene and national level team.

I am well aware of 'Make Inu' and 'Left Over Girls' phenomenon. It happens every where -- be it India, USA or even UK etc. After a certain age most career oriented girls find it hard to find a match. It does not absolves Chinese of their messed up gender ratio at birth. Again, I will point out, India also has a gender ratio problem at birth not as extreme as China though.

The leftover girl is also there in Japan too. There they have an extremely rude word for it. 'Make Inu'.

What we feel here in China is very normal, much fewer guys don't have girl friends than girls have boyfriends, I am also curious about that how come girls have more trouble finding guys than the other way around with the fact that China has more guys than girls. Those girls replied that guys can always find girls of younger generation, they have no trouble finding much younger girls but girls can rarely get younger guys.
