Yemenis hold anti-US demo in Saada over drone attacks
Yemenis have staged an anti-US demonstration in the northern province of Saada to express their anger over Washingtons assassination drone attacks in their country.
Taking to the streets in Saada on Friday, thousands of Yemenis shouted slogans against the US and Israel and demanded an end to Washingtons deadly airstrikes in their country.
The demonstrators also condemned Washingtons interference in the internal affairs of Yemen and called for the withdrawal of US Marines from their country.
In the past few months, Yemenis have staged several anti-US protests over Washington's interference in Yemeni affairs and its drone attacks in their country. The protestors have called on their government to cut all ties with Washington over the airstrikes.
Washington uses its assassination drones in Yemen, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Somalia, claiming that they target the terrorists. The attacks, however, mostly lead to massive civilian casualties.
The United Nations has censured the US drone attacks as targeted killings, stressing that they flout international law.
In their Friday demonstration, the Yemenis also praised the Palestinian resistance against Israel in Gaza and offered their congratulations to Palestinians for their victory over the Zionist regime.
On November 14, the Israeli regime launched a deadly offensive against the blockaded Gaza Strip, killing more than 160 Palestinians and injuring some 1,200 others. In retaliation, Palestinian resistance fighters fired rockets and missiles into Israeli cities, killing at least five Israelis.
On Wednesday, Egypt announced that the Israeli regime and the Palestinian resistance movement of Hamas had reached a ceasefire agreement.
