Sanaa: Yemini president Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi Friday blamed al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, an offshoot of global terror network, for the latest strings of attack on military camps and high officials.
In a televised speech late Thursday at the start of the Eid al-Adha holiday, Hadi accused al-Qaeda for the attacks but said that his government was determined to uproot the terror group from the country.
He singled out the suicide attack on the Abyan military camp last Friday, which left 14 army officers and soldiers dead.
His speech came hours after militants on motorcycles assassinated two senior security officials south of the capital, Sanaa, in a drive-by shooting.
Washington considers Yemens al-Qaeda branch as the world ****** groups most dangerous offshoot. The group also carried out a disastrous attack on a military parade in Sanaa, killing more than 100 soldiers.
