Deploying a WWII vintage weapon seems to be crazy indeed. Wondering if there are any other sources showing NAF militias armed with these kind of arms. I'm even imagining Ukrainian soldiers getting their butts whipped by captured MG42s used by Novorussians.

Older guns are lethal. Mosin Nagant is an 1800s rifle and it can drop a man beyond 500 meters because it's so accurate and has so much energy. PTRD isn't that good against main battle tanks, but it sure can destroy APCs like BMPs and BTRs.
