I'm surprised Brazil is so high on the list with their economy in such a mess.

Perhaps due to the Olympics and the raw materials, tourism they recieved that amount of FDI in the year. Also the size and potential of Brazil is vast.

If we continue to grow at 7% plus for the next 10 years as well as increasing the FDI we receive I have no doubt we will massively reduce poverty and develop like China did.

The numbers does not seem right.
I believe the numbers you posted are only FDI pledged or estimated.

Here are the real figures for 2013 and 2014. This should be the proper source for FDI.

India is ranked 15. Not 1.

I don't think tourism is considered FDI.

. .

It was only for greenfield investments. The ranking for 2015 total fdi is below:

UNCTAD also tabulates the top ten destinations for FDI last year. This data shows that the United States returned to its position as the most important destination for global FDI inflows in 2015 following its temporary dethroning by China in 2014. Hong Kong held on to second spot and China moved down the rankings to third place (although in absolute terms it still received more FDI dollars than in 2014).
