Mukesh Rawat wins 3rd gold in World Police Games

Dehradun: Mukesh Rawat, a constable in Uttarakhand Police, bring another laurel to the state by winning the third gold medal in the ongoing World Police and Fire Games at Virginia, USA, today. Mukesh won his third gold medal in the 5,000 meter race with a timing of 14 minutes and 32 seconds. He has already won gold medals in the 3,000 meter steeple chase and 1,500 meter race events. DGP BS Sidhu has extended his greetings to Mukesh for his rich haul of medals.
Another constable Manish Rawat has also won the gold medal in 5,000 m walk in the games. He set the world record by completing the 5,000 m walk in 20 minute 40 seconds and won the gold medal. He has already qualified for the 2018 Rio Olympics and become the part of Indian athletics team. Earlier, constable Amit Chettri won the first gold for the country in bodybuilding event.— TNS
