Indians are not really serious about animal protection unless a muslim is involved in an act of violation. My cousins tell me anecdotes of what has happened to muslims who have shot or killed a monkey.

We are not allowed to shoot cows monkeys and street dogs even though Lucknow is filled with them especially the older areas one of which our relatives live in. The animals should be put in pens or sent to proper care specialists or vets. Their populations on the streets are growing beyond order. Akbaruddin Owaisi rightly asked why sell an animal to muslims when you know they will have it for lunch or dinner. There is much hypocrisy in India.
