Buddhism does not have prayer. What we have is worship. Worshipping and prayer is different.

Prayer means you are asking for something like hindus pray to durga before exams, muslims pray to Allah for protection. In Buddhism we don't ask him for food, clothing etc but we worship his virtue, his teachings and his physical characteristics.

Like we have separate chants for lord Buddha's hair, lord Buddha's teeth and chants for lord Buddha's teachings like we regularly start our prayer by saying I won't commit illegal sex, won't kill animal etc etc.

Its like you have a statue of your teacher at home and you say his teachings in front of him.

We don't ask anything from the statue of Lord buddha. Statues cannot give you anything.

Dude this is different. Political and religious violence are different. There were many powerful Buddhist empires and kings. Many committed genocide.

Hulaqu Khan, the 4th Mongol empire, was a Buddhist and he killed around 2 million muslims when he invaded Baghdad. However was it religious war? Never. It was just a political violence between the Mongols and the Abbasid Khilafah.

The Yuan Dynasty, another Buddhist empire which had Tibetan Buddhism as state religion created by Kublai Khan was also violent at times but they were not influenced by Buddhism.

Your earlier words were 'Buddhism is the best religion in the world. Very secular and tolerant. You will never find Buddhists hating on others or committing genocide on others. We don't hate people for being different.'
