share here what type of window you are using, what is advantages and what you feel disadvantages......

Windows XP was a major breakthrough by Microsoft and resulted in Microsoft's booming popularity...

Windows 7 was also very good

I have to say- Windows 7 and 8 are better than Apples programs and I can never go disappointed with a Microsoft product

I have used windows from 95 to me millennium and then xp and now windows 7, I plan on trying to advance to win 8, win xp was my best experience where I spent most time with by now win7 is fresh modern and looks good.

I still love and use XP, but my wife likes and uses win7

I have used all versions of windows since Windows 3.1 (3.1wasmy first ever windows experience, earlier it used to be DOS, If I remember correctly DOS6 was the last version I used before switching to Windows). Earlier versions used to hang a lot and windows 97 was probably the first stable version with almost no hanging issues. 98 was good too, 2000 was pretty stable and solid version.

From the recent versions Windows XP was very good. IPresently I am using Vista (needs at leat 3 gigs to work properly), and Windows 7 on my three lap tops. I opted for Windows 7 on my latest laptop that I purchased 3 days ago instead of windows 8. Windows 8 is a totally new concept and more suitable for touch screen plateforms. I found it quite irritating as I could'nt find the stuff so easily not to mention still struggling with office 2010 menu (really really hate the ribbon setup, only if they can provide two additional customizable tool bars and option to close ribbon)

Using XP for the past 7 years simply because my PC's Hardware configuration does not support the Windows 7 :-)P),but I am happy as it is versatile, still fresh and very very simple.
For me:
Windows XP=Revolutionary.
Windows 7=Evolutionary.

My combination is Windows 7 and Linux ubuntu 12.04.1

Windows xp support will be finished in I believe in 2014. Still people will be there to use it. There is also a widget that tell the countdown of XP support life.

Windows 8 its ok but im staying with Windows 7 I like it very much
Windows 7 is a great OS and this is a Evolution of Vista. MS changed the Look n Feel and Performance of Vista and named it Windows 7. And not to forget added Windows XP mode. Which i dont think have any use when u can use Virtual box or Virtual Machine.
And Ubuntu ahhhh my love great OS ya sometime its daunting. But a great platform for the people who want to learn Linux. Boot time is much much less less than Windows and same is the shutdown time. It shutdown in just focking 2 seconds now u tell me which OS can achieve this landmark. And not to mention its support. There are many many Penguins who can help u to get the work done and someone is always there to help u. I call Linux THE PEOPLES OS THE REAL CHAMP

My system Configuration

Quad Core
4 GB RAM
Nvidia 220
2 TB HDD

i'm using all XP, Win7, Win8 , Mostly Win7
during evaluation between Win7 & Win8 the 1st thing i notice about Win8 was that it consumes less memory as compared to Win7.
in win8 users will find it difficult to navigate thru diff stuff as its totally diff GUI... , but it will be all good once they get use to the GUI :)

upgraded all the computers in my house to windows 8. There are some things I really like and somethings that are a bit annoying and i need to learn how to use properly.
Windows 8 is much much better with a touch screen tho.

i have heard that win-8 is less stable as compared to win-7
i've not used win-8, using 7 and xp

Windows 8 is more secure, modern and faster OS than Windows 7. Actually Windows 8 is a more secured and faster version of Windows 7. The only drawback is Windows 8 doesn't have the start menu. I installed Start8 to bring back the start menu
