Wilson Combat has announced that their Recon Tactical and Super Sniper rifles are now available chambered in .224 Valkyrie. The rifles are built with Wilson Combat barrels that feature a fast 1:6.5″ twist rate which allows stabilizing some of the heaviest (90 grain) .224 projectiles currently available on the market. Let’s take a look at each of these rifles.

This rifle has a Wilson Combat match grade free-floated 20″ barrel which can have either smooth or fluted profile. This gun has a rifle length gas system and a low profile gas block. The rifle is built around the WC billet upper and lower receivers featuring the company’s Armor-Tuff finish. Other components used in this rifle are the WC M-LOK handguard, Rogers Super-Stoc stock, BCM Gunfighter charging handle and pistolgrip, Wilson Combat TTU single stage trigger and mil-spec bolt carrier group with an NP3 finish. The overall length is 38″ and the rifle weighs 7 lbs.

The MSRP of Wilson Combat Recon Tactical Rifle chambered in .224 Valkyrie starts from $2,550.

Wilson Combat Super Sniper Rifle

These two rifles are quite similar and it is a bit difficult to spot the differences between the two. I contacted Wilson Combat and they explained me the differences between the two rifles which I’ll quote below:

The main bodies of the rifles are going to be similar in all aspects. Both models will have billet receiversand M-lok hand guards at 13.8″ length. Also they will both include the Rogers Super-Stoc and also BCM gunfighter grip with our insignia on both. They are both offered in all colors of armor tuff we offer but if the individual chooses to upgrade they can have any of the additional coatings for an additional cost. The main difference between the models of Super Sniper and Recon are going to be barrel profile. The Super Sniper tends to run a larger diameter to make sure that there is absolute lowest amount of barrel flex as we can provide. Especially since the increased velocity can cause a raise in barrel temperature. This is improved even more with the additional fluting we offer as well on both models.

The MSRP of Wilson Combat Super Sniper rifle chambered in .224 Valkyrie is $2,525.
