PPP is still teetering on the fence on whether to resign from the National Assembly or not. The reason is clear, once they resign they are into the dustbin of history forever. They go the way of ANP and other loser parties.

Probably not. They know N-league is a corpse party, and are only using them to further their own goals.

Resigning will guarantee a PTI majority next election. N-league will get wiped out, sure, but PPP's goal is government, not leader of the opposition.

Besides, PPP knows how dangerous it'll be for them, if they set this precedence to force elections, because it can be done to them, if they ever return to power. They'd rather just let PTI finish its term, and try and win next elections. After all, by the entire of a part's term, it usually loses a lot of popular support, and that's exactly what PPP will bank on.


At least that's my guess.

Who knows, I could be completely wrong, and PPP could stupidly resign, triggering an election they're almost guaranteed to lose.

True there will be Imran Khan fatigue by the end of his term, but at the same time PPP has no chance whatsoever in Punjab. It's a done deal, PPP is gone from Punjab forever. Without Punjab no conceivable way to form a government.

Funnily enough, even if PTI loses the next elections, whomever wins will be accused by every other party of rigging the vote. They'll go back to accusing each other of corruption, and incompetence, forgetting that they were on the same side when PTI was in power.

PDM is nothing more than a farce, and its members know it.

On a side note, PMLN has nothing to lose, PPP has everything to lose. I wonder if the smarter heads in PPP can convince Bilawal that resigning is a bad idea

Regardless, the coming weeks are gonna be both interesting and frustrating times for Pakistan.

Fingers crossed, I really wish that Allah showers mercy on Pakistan and for once PPP will opt for self destruction by resigning.

Pretty much. Didnt they try mass resignation tactic before, only for PPP to back out on the last second?

I suspect that'll happen again.

One more thing that's likely to happen is PMLN members that aren't really loyal to N-league, will likely abandon ship, in order to protect their own position.

If PDM fails, I also suspect that Maryam Nawaz' political career is pretty much over. On the other hand, Bilawal Bhutto's popularity will likely skyrocket, as it's clear he hasn't really attached that much importance to PDM as much as his incompetent and corrupt father has.

Unfortunately, the reality is that she does, and much like everything else in her life, it was given to her on a silver platter, via nepotism.

Shehbaz Sharif may currently be the legal party leader, but we all know that Maryam Nawaz is in charge of PMLN, and that SS is nothing more than a used and sidelined figurehead.
