Congress leader from Punjab and former state minister Navjot Singh Sidhu has written yet another letter to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar asking him to at least reply to his letters seeking permission to visit Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan.
In his new letter, Sidhu said despite his repeated reminders, the MEA has failed to respond to whether he has been granted permission to go to Pakistan for the inauguration ceremony of Gurdwara Sahib Kartarpur Corridor.
"The delay and no response is a hindrance to my future course of action. I categorically state that if the government has any inhibitions and says no, then as a law abiding citizen, I will not go."
" But if you don't respond to my third letter, then I will proceed to Pakistan as millions of Sikh devotees go on eligible Visa."
Navjot Singh Sidhu's letter comes two days before the inaugural ceremony of the Kartarpur corridor.
Meanwhile, responding to a question of whether Sidhu will be allowed to travel to Pakistan as part of a jatha even though the MEA hasn't yet given him political clearance, MEA Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said it is not right to discuss individual cases because this is a historic occasion.
"The inauguration of Kartarpur Corridor is a historic event. It is not important to highlight any one individual (Navjot Singh Sidhu)," he said in response to a question regarding Sidhu during a press conference in New Delhi on Thursday.
