It won't be long before the Chinese Navy have grown so much in size that even the US Navy would be afraid to guarantee any protection if the Chinese decides to initiate the military move. Many analysts already agree that China already dominates the South China Sea. A war in the South China Sea or Taiwan would surely escalate a war in the North East too. The US cannot deal a war on many fronts against China and North Korea due to lack of manpower if one takes in to calculations of how many manpower North Korea has.

uhm...what you call "2/3 factories leaving China" is actually those Chinese companies EXPORTING factories abroad. I know cuz there are factories owned by Chinese companies manufacturing various goods in Pakistan...China, therefore, STILL makes money.

Like I said before....if you corner someone, expect a fight.

The issue isn't just about the "Taiwanese Army"....it's a multidimensional 3d chess.....the reason why Taiwan still exists and will continue to exist for the foreseeable is because the risks of annexing Taiwan are much greater than the benefits.

China can't afford heightened international awareness of its geopolitical ambitions. It has more important issues to worry about, like the SCS & the Coronavirus, than annexing Taiwan.

You're also forgetting the financial constraint a war has on any economy. Even a joke army will be expensive to put down unless China decides to fire/bomb/destroy indiscriminately, which will be very inhumane.

Time is on China's side. China is becoming stronger each year. We can wait to the day when nobody says a word if China reunifies Taiwan. Just like US bombs this and that but everyone just keeps silent about that. Or wait to an opportunity when US messes things up.

Even if China reunifies Taiwan in this year, things are not as bad as you think. China's economy is already strong enough. Punishing China is equal to punishing yourself. China would receive many complaints rather than actual punishments.

Taiwan will go down no doubt. Its impossible for them to resist Chinese attacks but it will take the eastern china with it too. Will CCP afford to let Beijing , Shanghai , Eastern Chinese cities take damages???

The day when Taiwan change it's name from Republic of China to Republic of Taiwan and declare independence from Greater China, we will know the truth.

How will China react? They already have plan A, plan B, plan C etc ready to be executed in minutes of notice. IMO, in the first few hours, they will target all radar sites, air fields, naval ports and ships, aiming to blind all sensors and telecommunications. A military that cannot see and cannot hear the opponents they are facing is as good as gone.

ROC soldiers know as hell that they can not stop PLA taking over, and most of all ROC's young soldiers are not patriotic, and saving their own lives will be the top priority. What is the point fighting for a war that is destined to be lost and that will cost your life.

There will be a mad rush to airports before the last plane take off just like the last days of Saigon. And just like unification of Vietnam, everything will be back to normal as time past by.

How will US react? They will debate for days in the Congress and Senate, Taiwan is just a pawn in their chess game in containment of China, not worth to go nuclear over it. Lives of American citizens are more precious than those in Taiwan.
