Julian Assange is known worldwide as a founder of WikiLeaks and is currently living in Ecuadorian embassy in London to avoid being extradited to Sweden and facing questioning about alleged sex offences.

Back in 2012, Assange announced that despite his inability to go outside he would still be fighting for a seat in Aussie election. However, Australian voters were for some reason underwhelmed by his winning personality and comedy electioneering, and Assange failed to get enough votes to receive a seat in the Victorian senate. The results showed that the WikiLeaks Party had just a bit over 1% of the vote, ironically trailing behind the “Australian Sex Party”.

Local media reports point out that Assange lost out to the rather obscure special interest party the “Australian Motoring Enthusiasts Party” and compare this to losing to the Silly Party. In the meantime, industry observers admit that Julian’s election campaign was a ****-up from the very beginning. Not only did he run a series of unfunny ads trying to do a Justin Beiber to John Farnam's the Voice, he also put right wing nutjobs on its voting ticket. This move has seriously hurt the party’s credibility with its more left wing base, and some campaign staff even decided to resign over the move. Assange later admitted it was a mistake, but apparently it was too late

After all said and done,in the end, nobody likes a rat.

How a person holed up in London suppose to serve his constiuentancy in Australia?
