Wikileaks Cable Warning Al Qaeda Plans Nuclear 9/11′
February 1, 2011 by Bruce Wilson
Diplomatic cables obtained by Wikileaks suggest that Al Qaeda is on the verge of producing radioactive weapons. The terrorist organization smuggled uranium and plutonium and recruited rogue scientists to build dirty bombs.
The world is on the brink of a nuclear 9/11′ according to Tomihiro Taniguchi, a leading atomic regulator. Al Qaeda is also close to producing workable and efficient biological and chemical weapons that have the potential to kill many thousands if unleashed in dense areas.
Thousands of classified documents from Wikileaks have been passed to The Daily Telegraph containing details about the struggle to halt the spread of nuclear, chemical and biological components across the globe.
At a NATO meeting in January 2009, security chiefs informed member states that Al Qaeda was preparing a program of dirty radioactive IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices) to attack British troops in Afghanistan. Al Qaeda documents found in Afghanistan in 2007 suggested that they had made great advances to attain their obscure goals and an Indian national security adviser told American security personnel that terrorist organizations had the technical competence to manufacture an explosive beyond a mere dirty bomb.
Documents from foreign U.S. embassies sent to Washington, reveal how terrorist groups were smuggling huge amounts of radioactive material across Europe, Africa and the Middle East. The documents explain how custom guards at borders used radiation alarms to recognize and seize cargoes of radioactive material.
The IAEA has privately warned America that stores of uranium and plutonium need to be secured against terrorists, but diplomats said there was no way to provide perimeter security to its own laboratories.
In Pakistan, agriculture stores of deadly biological material are not enough secured and vulnerable to terrorist organizations. The worlds only two declared smallpox stores in Atlanta and Novosibirsk in Russia have dubious security levels and have been called into question at meetings of the World Health Assembly, according to the leaked cables. A nuclear power station under construction located in Flamanville, France does not meet norms because of design flaws.
