That's a relief! :)

Like did you know that burying female newborns was an ancient Arab tribal practice long before it came to India?

Not a part of Islam per se, but passed down to the sub-continent by Arab invaders.

Illustrating well the difference between formalized religion and adaptive culture.

Steaming bull dung sir.

You prophet and his armies very much during his lifetime waged war on Mecca and Medina sir.

Then they launched their Jihad (also commonly called the Mohammedan Wars) against Persia sir.

Where it was all sword sir. No free love.

Then they turned on India sir. Though admittedly long after your prophet.

This is SOOOO LAUGHABLE! BTW, I am a woman! :) Comprehend it!

Waged war on Mecca and Madina...WHO started the war?
(also commonly called the Mohammedan Wars)

Please tell me how much anti-Islamic sites do you read? Unlike the Christians who worship Christ the bearer of their message we do not worship our Prophet so there is no such word as Mohammedan wars except that given by Christians because that is how they address themselves- According to the bearer of their message and label us as they label themselves! Of course going deep into this is too much! So, just read the headlines!

Furthermore, Jihad means STRUGGLE/ STRIVE...Holy war was the word the crusaders used which was thrown to Islam so that it would look equal or balanced to all those who wrote the history....Because Crusaders STRUGGLED during war, they did not understand Islamic Jihad!
No free love? Really, soo many Indians allowed to live and practice their religion under the 800 years of rule and yet they claim no free love?

IF ISLAM did what you claimed, 90% of India would be Muslim and same for every other country Islam touched! And each country would have their religion changed or atleast elements of ISLAM in their religion...But Hinduism has nothing common to Islam it still is polytheistic, names of each GOD are still preserved...There has not been added a new Arabic god or anything! So, please stop whining! :)

Were you in Philippines which was about 70% Muslim and after the Chrisitians left it had less than 10% Muslims left and if then you were whining, I would accept the reason for whining!

Have you ever succeeded in converting a non muslim? When my private messaging facility opens up, I'll let you in on some nice information!

It is not my intention...Prophet was not even allowed to forcefully convert or even complain about his uncle not converting, who am I?

Nahin yara ---- not like that! Has anyone converted just being your friend for a long time, by the examples you've set, your deeds, the way you deal with humanity ---- without you even knowing or wishing such a thing?

That's the problem. Religion doesn't change, people do. If people want to impose a 1000,2000 or 5000 year philosophy today and claim it to be the only way, obviously we have a problem. Btw, your not believing that change is necessary is exactly the problem. Change is always necessary. You won't directly submit yourself to a 1000 year medical treatment without allowing for the evolution of the same, why should religion be any different?

You do not know Islam...THAT IS clear! Otherwise you would not say all this!
Ayurvedic and acupuncture did not turn up yesterday on your doorstep!

Not at all.

Unlike Islam, Hinduism is democratic, flexible, dynamic, and open minded. Sati was abolished a long time ago. Hindu girls dress normally, have a life and a mind of their own, have high paying jobs, and still make time for husband and families.

And I am not a Hindu. So .....

So you decided to just be a good Samaritan and preach the good points of Hinduism, however deceitful those words be! Sati is practiced throughout the Hindu world, ofcourse not so much in western countries because of the consequences!

Unlike Islam, poor Hindus bury their new born infant girls and the rich get abortions as soon as sex is determined! And that's just the tip of the iceberg.........So once again, be more concerned with the ills of your religion and then speak about Islam!

Dude, the interpretation can be bent through Ijtehad in Islam, however, there aren't people of that stature available to reinterpret certain guidelines to make them coherent to modern times.

My belief is that the interpretation can change based on the time...Like there was this ayat that goes:
...He is the Knower of the Unseen, Whom not an atom's weight eludes, either in the heavens or in the earth; nor is there anything smaller or larger than that which is not in a Clear Book
. (Qur'an, 34:3)

Now the word previously used was grain of sand now new translators use the word atom...Because the Arabic word is a word used for something small...Back then grain of sand was small...now an atom is smaller so it is preferred! But did the meaning change? NOPE!

Ok, I'll try to explain myself better: I have zero tolerance for intolerance. :)

Everyone has the right to practice their faith free from ANY constrains, however, that should be limited to the four walls of their houses.

Society/social order on the other hand has to be representative of the cumulative viewpoints and beliefs of it's individual faiths/sects and practices/rituals.

I agree with you to the point where you realize that you live in the "Islamic Republic of Pakistan"! Even though Shariat is not in effect here but this is the only country formed in the name of Islam and Islam is the religion and law that must be implemented here.

But rest of your post I agree with, everybody should be free to practice their religion so long as they do not hurt the sentiments of others.

I do not think so...Most of my friends in my childhood were all Muslims...as for the non-Muslims they barely spoke about religion..As for my during my MSc....they just respected me and I always kept it La kum dee nu kum wali yadien...I would tell them if they asked but never ask them to convert!

Even IF someone did, that is from ALLAH nothing to do with me or be proud of :)
