Why was Bilawal not called out for lying about IK in his Edhi tweet?

Bilawal recently tweeted an old video of an interview of Edhi, in which he says that he was threatened by Imran Khan. Bilawal implied that Edhi was referring to the current PM. But, as has been stated numerous times since the video first surfaced, Edhi was actually referring to General Imranullah Khan.

What I find odd is that most, if not all the major media organizations carried the story of the tweet without clarifying that Edhi was referring to a different IK. Even after Bilawal was corrected on twitter and elsewhere, none of these media organizations retracted their story, or called out Bilawal for lying. Last I checked, his tweet had not been deleted either.

I know the common perception is that most media organizations are dishonest, have vested interests, etc. But is it really that bad? Are there no honest or fair news organizations or journalists in the country?

We all can clearly see, how vigorous the campaign is going on against IK after his Iran's visit. I only watch reasonable anchors like Dr. Moeed and good journalists like Siddique Jan for news and stuff. Their programmes are based on facts and their opinion is guided with context if they add in their opinion.

But apart from a very small number of individuals, the number of journalists, commentators, "analysts", and "experts" criticizing the government is rather surprising, and does not seem to reflect public opinion. I am baffled as to why these media organizations are trying to undermine this government, when this can lead to some serious and long term damage to the country.

Well, he is the chairman of one of the largest political organizations in the country, with millions of voters. Even if he is not capable, his words matter. The media covers his speeches and millions of people are influenced.

Geo tv is leading smear campaign against IK. So far IK hasn't reacted but things are boiling up. Next 1.5 years will be crucial for PTI govt and this is the time they will be most vulnerable because of economic situation.
