Why Russia is the world's top falling nation in the 21th century

.
Id be worried about Russia if I were China. Competition between the 2 will get much more fierce in Sibera and the Artic over the next decade. Also they have competing interests globally as well.

.
Americans are pretty jealous of Russia. Moscow to Nakhodka 6493 km connected by road. That makes it contiguous. Hell, Anchorage to Miami doesn't even reach 6493 km.

Moscow is pretty warm. It's sort of like NYC in terms of climate.

Saint Petersburg is of course even warmer.
That is still not idea compare to Poland or Eastern Europe. Russia position is very difficult to attract trade. As some mention, lack of all weather deep port. Tranport not convenient. Look at India, despite much smaller. It has plenty of futile land and good position attracts trade and attention of a lot of power thru out it's history. Indian has even a bigger economy than Russia despite ill efficient of the government.

Russia to China is sort of like Canada to the US. A tenth the population.

There is no road connecting Guam and Washington DC. So it's not contiguous. There is road connecting Moscow and Nakhodka. So it is contiguous. You are comparing apples and oranges.
I meant your point is meaningless; you go only inland by road but everywhere by ship or aircraft; ship and aircraft would be much better strategic logistics if you have the best; US has the most ships and aircrafts

very important truth; those countries located in high altitude like russia or canada have bad weather, which is very fatal to their economy

only population size by comparison but mostly not; in terms of origins race politics history language culture etc.. please note that the relationship between Russia and China is heavily different from the ones between US and Canada

You can get to Guam from Washington DC but it's only by ship or plane. You can't get there by road. That means it's not contiguous. Read up on contiguous 48 states and understand the importance of contiguous.

No, privatization did not destroy the Russian economy but corruption, theft, mismanagement, laziness and the unwillingness to tackle the real problems destroyed the Russian economy.

Agreed!
1) Kleptocracy
2) Severe brain-drain

Brain drain in Russia passes 10 million mark

"The people migrating to Russia are primarily poorly qualified workers from Central Asian republics. Only 13-17% of them have had tertiary education
...
In contrast, there is an “intellectual migration” away from Russia. 70% of the emigrants have had tertiary education, which is significantly above the national average.
...
A survey by the Boston Consulting Group involving 24,000 respondents showed that 50% of Russian scientists, 52% of senior managers and 54% of IT specialists would like to work abroad. 49% of Russian engineering specialists and 46% of doctors are ready to join them.
..
In Russia, there is not much of this desire as it is: the difference in pay between a driver and a doctor is only 20% in Russia, whereas it is 174% in Germany, 261% in the US, and 172% in Brazil."
