Yes they are intertwined. However we were/are not talking about democratic process. The point was, simple, how the term of "freedom of speech" can be applied to certain terms while others are ruled not to be falling under that category. The examples are NUMEROUS!
I am sure you know about all or most of them. Whether you understand them or are open enough/bold enough to admit to them is a separate point and a personal trait, no one can do anything about that.
Actually we were talking about democratic proces.
