Why one should hate Lenin & Stalin

You're right. Though it was part of WW2? Stalin was worried about Finland being overrun by the Nazis.

He was a monster who subjected his people and those of other ethnicity with cruelty.

Onething this we have to remember though, that it was the communist revolution that brought about the respite to ottaman khalafat during WW1 as Czar Nicholas had an alliance with britishers, Greeks, Armenians and rest of the powerful western coutnries to destroy Ottaman Khalafat. Russian army and Armenian Conscripts had already obliterated Ottaman 6th army (citation required) around VAN and Erzurm during WW1. And there were three other fronts ottomons were fighting the britishers, greeks, Royal Indian army (subcontinent) and combined armies of australia, new zealand (ANZACs) and arabs; in egypt/palestine/Hijaz, gallipoli, and Iraq (mesopotemia).

As this alliance was broken between Russian and West, Ottaman khalafat was able to move the armies to defend enclave of Gallopie and Istanbul. It was esentially a life line given to turks before they accepted defeat but with pre conditions like khalafat will remain in place, otherwise according to British admirals the Khalfat has only 14 days to live when they open the european naval front and eventually landing on mainland turkey.

It was Lt Col Ata turk who later brought down the Khalafat and laid foundation of Turkey.

Where as Stalin's mother was a slave to an Armenian master and he was born to armenian master. His despise for armenians made him kill millions of Armenians in concentration camp in Gulags in siberia. I know a lot of armenians who ran to USA with the one of the other grand parent being killed working in gulag camps. he also minced german and polish jews and other races in thousands and millions...

Stalin also ripped into Poland after the Nazis launched their offensive; he occupied by force the nations that would comprise the "Iron Curtain" after WW2 - Hungary, Czech, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Hungary, Yugoslavia, etc.

Stalin was a monster through and through. Few officers survived the great purges of the 1930's, which was why the USSR was so badly prepared for WW2.

A little recognized fact is that Poland lost the largest percentage of its population, civilian and military of all of the world war two combatants.

Stalin ways were for sure very inhumane, sadistic and despotic but he was a very good leader for a society which had to deal with poverty, economic repression and possible occupation. it said that he killed over 20 million people. But then again his supports claim that it was a sacrifice for all the other things he did achieve and that he saved others from a much worse a Fascist rule.

The Lienz Cossacks were traitors of the Soviet Union. I don't think the sentence for traitors would have been different in most other countries.

The invasions of Poland and Finland I would say are relevant to show Stalin's aggressive expansionist policies (though on a background of World War 2). I don't know the exact reasons for it, but could any leader at the time claim not to have an expansionist policy? All of them did it. I'm sure Stalin's reasons for invading weren't any better than the American reason in Iraq. His body count would be one thing that might set him apart from others but I don't think anyone knows it, but there's not good way of killing people.

The occupation of baltic states By Stalin again were a sign of the times. Colonialism was still in vogue at the time, but going out of fashion.

The main problem with Stalin would be how many people he killed and whether this any different to what other countries did.

is the 20 million a proven figure?

is the 20 million a proven figure?

Well more or less almost every recent historian suggested 20 million or around. I don’t doubt the million mark but how many millions will always remain unanswerable. Btw have you read Gulag by Anne Applebaum ?

Stalin is dictator and murder. He sent his own people to concentration camp and killed them. But dont blame Lenin. He is a great leader.
