Who knows? "Freedom 251" where can buy? I have a classmate is mobile phone dealers, I told him that India has a Freedom 251 is very cheap, you can make big profits. He hopes to get a prototype, He would do some advertising, can the Freedom 251 to sell 500 yuan RMB.

But the key the problem is that how to get Freedom 251?

. . . .
It was just a marketing gimmick, some people got the phone. But you don't give out freebies forever, do you?

.
Flopped? OK, I haven't heard from for a long time. I thought I could make a lot of profit. But anything is not so simple.

No one is responsible?
It feels like a scam.

No, he got everybody to pay for the phone as preorder. So he was supposed to get a lot of money. His plan was to invest that in equity and then deliver phones with a profit.

But the govt interfered and he had to pay all that money back to his customers.

There are a lot of internet-based smart phone companies, such as Xiaomi and One Plus.
Selling via internet saves money, but I have never seen they are selling it without making money!

Xiaomi is the best proof of the Internet sales.

I am more interested in the story of one plus...
Because, one plus actually sells more phones abroad than in China and not really often discussed in China...

It's actually a very tiny company, but you know what, their manufacturing relies on OPPO!
In fact, One Plus and OPPO are invested by the same group, so is VIVO....
Basically, you buy one plus phone, you are actually choosing OPPO's high-quality phone but at a lower price....
But their design and marketing is totally independent.
I think their strategy is clear...they don't really want to make it big like Huawei and OPPO (China's top2)...
They create a small online market targeting mainly overseas consumers and
they are gradually building their brand in Europe....

He said he would be making a profit of 50 cents on each phone. His plan was by making bulk sales, perhaps hundreds of millions of phones. And in the meantime he would rely on equities to run the business until he starts making profits.

He claimed 7.5 crore people registered, that's 75 million people. If he took $4 from each of them, that's $300M.

Imagine if 300M people registered. That's $1.2B in equities right there. That's a lot of money. People would have accepted even if he took more than 6 months in delivering the phones after registration.

So he actually started this hype even before delivering one single phone?

If they really want to buy cheap smart phones, just let those telecom operators give them free smart phones....
In many countries, they will gift you a pretty good one (way better than $100) if you subscribe their plan.

Yes. The delivery time was 4 months after first registration.

Right now that's too expensive for India. People want the ability to switch carriers whenever they want.

Freedom can be labled to a product? 251=250+1. Good idea but if the project comes to true and has any problems pls don't blame the cheapest parts bought from a street of Shenzhen.
