Sure? I think diesel subs are as silent as nuclear one, or even more so.

Nuke subs can go and hide globally, diesel have limited range. Nuke subs need higher strength hull so can go to more depth. They are also larger to hold ICBMs. As the engines are more powerful they can go at fast speeds .
