India is not part of BRI. We are in fact building alternate routes to BRI.

The Chinese interest in Chabahar is in fact about getting access to the minerals in Afghanistan that India controls and vice versa.

Check out the distance between Urumqi and Kashgar. Why didn't China expanded CPEC to Urumqi?? Its simple pakistan is a great market. Same reason India rejected joining BRI via Nepal and Nepal would do the same.

They are all completely independent routes with zero Chinese funding. All BRI projects are Chinese funded and Chinese controlled. Why will India be even remotely interested in that?

AAGC in fact has drawn a lot of criticism from China. India and Japan are in fact identifying the new routes as "the other New Silk Road". For example, China got the Hambantota while India got Trincomalee. China got Gwadar, India got Chabahar. So all the deals we are cutting right now are in direct competition with the Chinese BRI.

IMT is not a corridor, it's only a highway.
