These two countries started reforming in similar years
but Vietnam is ahead of India

If I want to travel or work in one of these two countries, I will definitely choose vietnam coz it is clean, safe and non-chaos like India

Can I advise you that you can choose to travel and spend your money in domestic land or Pakistan?

:D

I want to travel to India. A little fear if I was a girl, but I'm not.

Vietnam safe for Chinese tourist???

I prefer India!

Did you hear any Chinese tourist was hurt in Vietnam?
LOL.

If I was Japanese, I would fear to be in China, more than a Chinese in Vietnam.
Chinese race is also a minority in Vietnam.

Although I've never been to Vietnam, I'm very respectful of it as a nation, a feat which I'm pretty sure very common among my Indian brethren.

If they are ahead of us, I congratulate them. Whatever they have achieved its because they have worked hard to be what they are today.

Possible reasons for why they have developed better,

a) Authoritarian Government - faster decisions, low rate of inclusion of a whole lot of people in decision making.

b) Investment in Infrastructure and Education - They have invested good in these key areas, it has given them an efficient workforce with able infrastructure to fully tap the enhanced skills of its human resource.

c) After-war effect - The war-torn country had to start rebuilding its economy from the scratch. When you hit rock bottom, there's no other way left but upwards. Best examples, Japan-Germany.

d) Communism - Although Vietcong was supported by many in the South, the communist leadership of the newly united country still had to prove to many of its citizens who were in favour of Democracy that Communism can be equally good or can even perform better when it comes to economic growth.

They are almost the same

My unbiased comment. when china had good relations with vietnam there were trickled economic benefits to vietnam. now i don't know if that will be the same in the future as relationship not as good as before. china start to become tougher for border villagers who want to go across china border to sell stuff than return at night. now they just close off or scrutinize more.
now Vietnamese merchants trying to find other sources to get raw materials and sell agri products. when vietnam sign TPP i hope it will benefit us.

Naah !...seriously ,Vietnam's growth rate has been around ~6% or say 5.62% to be precise for 9months of 2014. whereas, India is growing at 5.7%(Q1-2014) ,both countries have equal growth rate, so definately a country with 92mill would develop faster and better than one wid 1200mill. Anways u guy are ahead of us on per capita statistics.hence i said u guys could be more developed than us. See,I wasn't flattering anyone :angels:
