What's new

Why does Japan work so hard?

. .
Japanese unit (Male/Female) has a greater understanding of belonging to a Nation, they accept the asked required items from their nation , and do not come up with excuses.

The clarity in thinking about Goals and objectives as a collective meant they are able to achieve more and they don't have objection to 12 hour work days

The upbringing during early years 10-15 years is what sets them up for this unified approach

Their Unity is also visible to great extent in Team sports , they are consumed with desire to perfect tactics in sports

Same traits are present at work place which gives a great return of value for Employer , and their is not alot of Job hopping as people still work for same employer

Back in 1960's they as nation decided on a Shinkansen Train system vs Using planes for local commute and they all agreed and embraced it no one complained about it , why this crosses their Province.

Their corporations are ready to give Jobs on Pure Merit ensures the Top minds are always appreciated which is why their high-school exams are most vicious

But being too work or goal oriented is destroying them too. They have population shortage people are getting less and less married hence less children.everything is about work and survival

Status (Respect) in world is more important , if you understand my statement you will understand Japanese way of thinking

R.E.S.P.E.C.T ~ when someone mentions Japan , what they desire is the thought of Respect

They all think in Unified way their whole community is constructed around this concept , every single person wants to contribute to their Community/national goal.

So they don't question why I work longer

They say , I am thankful for having a Job and this wonderful meal my Nation has provided me with on Saturday in Evening gatherings

  • To be honest their Nation also ensures that the get proper salaries and not slave salaries yes their apartments are expensive. Not enough Land to build homes but they are happy with what they have

If you will visit the smallest of shops in Japan , you will be greeted with a smile and cheerful bow

It again goes back to the whole RESPECT concept , even the smallest of working units respect their customers. This is how you will be treated in every single store in Japan or restaurant

100% RESPECT

When the cashier finishes the grocery charges they will give the cash in your hand in a polite manner and , say thank you in a polite tone and bow down

While the cashier was giving back funds / change she is thanking the customer for their visits and hope they visit again.

They are an admirable people, but working to near death has now led to in some instances irreversible trends such as their very low birth rate, which people attribute to long working hours and young folk simply haven't got the time to meet. You also have the very high suicide rate and high levels of stress which prevalent among the population.
Take a look at the happiness index and their ranking i.e. 58, which is terrible for a first world nation.

.
They are #3 Economy in world , and that Title came by not virtue of slacking
There is nothing wrong with Japanese People's mental health

They may have a 8 hour shift , but then they enjoy their break on Saturday or Sunday
by Trips to local Parks or Festivals in Summer

The salaries in Japan are just short of that of USA

For not having any Major Natural Resource, for them to be #3 Spot in World means they all worked hard for it

There is no point to have a 10 member family and you are jobless and your nation has no tax collection model

Sure have a 10 kids cricket team family and you are struggling to pay bills hiding taxes what kind of a goal is it , this is actually quite a common scenario in Pakistan

I find having an ambition to be Top 3 in world is a great vision and dream instead of asking for Subsidies

Respect is earned , and if people are happy with IMF loans that is a counter thought process to what earning respect in world is all about

There is a local Pakistani Restaurant I go to , the lady at counter is so miserable I am paying her 50-60 dollar for meal for family and she has no customer skills then you wait full 40 minutes to get your order sometimes these type of stuff people just ignore as it is part of life but that is not how successful nations work

Take the good parts of their culture and leave the bad...

Pakistanis are pretty hard working in their own rights and exceed most other nations in environments when provided proper merit. It's just that in our country merit is not very prevalent, specially in the government and bureaucracy. I love IK but he made Amir Kiyani a lawyer by profession as health minister. Same is the case with Hammad Azhar who is a lawyer but is minister of revenue. Khusro Bakhtiyar another lawyer - planning minister. What is with all these lawyers :hitwall:

The situation is even worse in the bureaucracy. One officer would be working in civil works for a few years and then will be moved to education or health when he has zero experience or competency in it.

I admire their hard working mentality, but it's really sad that people don't value their lifetime.

Low birthrate and high suicide numbers are also the consquences of this careere focused lifestyle.

.
Completion for High salary Jobs is high, Corporations are looking for Top the Creme for hiring
It's either you are A+ or A

No room for B, C , D grades

Contrary to belief they do get Saturday and Sunday off like everyone else but their regular weekdays are spent working

Japan is doing something wrong look at america it is a world power yet they live an easy life, without all luxuries too and they dont have demographic problem there.

Answer is they are not Agricultural society i.e don't have food so it has to be imported
They don't have Oil or Gas so that has to be imported

They don't have even 10% of what Pakistan have in term of Agriculture or Dairy
They don't have SAUDIA massive oil

But as nation they are #3 in world way ahead of both Pakistan /Saudia

The bill is high for it at national level , so all Japanese understand it and accept that they need to export more to have a certain life style (Home ,Car, family , Bank Balance) and that is why they work so hard

US has gas , has agriculture and also exports goods, US also has natural resources like forests trees and minerals

They all knew what the needed to do to be #3 and they all agreed to it by working hard

Simple way to put it NATIONAL UNITY
