How are we in shock about a stealth fighter? It's not like we are the only country on this planet that can figure out how it works. If a country puts the resources towards it...they will build one.

Except Americans, at least writers, claim we can't even build a bullet that works. Come on man, don't act like Americans were expecting China to succeed, even now the doubters are everywhere on our J-xx projects.

The fastest super-computer. Again if you put the resources towards it you can build a room-sized fast supercomputer (until the next guy builds a room and a half sized supercomputer...and the guy after that a two room sized one).

Well we have the fastest now, using American chips, but hopefully in the coming decades we will fix that.

Longest highways system. We built ours over 50 years ago (without computers, GPS, and other technical advances). Maybe we are in shock that it took them this long to build one.

So? Does the 50 year later thing make ours less capable? 50 years or 100 years, fact of the matter is we have it now.

Longest high-speed rail system. How can we be in shock about that since we have never had long high speed rail systems???

But you do want one, unless Obama likes handing out tax payer dollars for fun.


Having said that, I will say, America won't so much fall, as we will rise, and since the pie isn't increasing, and we are getting bigger and need more calories, America is going to have to share, but it's good for you, maybe now you can fit into those jeans that you wanted.

Not really, we were poor, and if we are honest, there are still tons of construction and we are hardly the worst or even close.

Yet the billions are out, California VOTED FOR the move, I didn't make this up. So the jury is not out on whether you want one, the jury is out on whether you can BUILD one.

I don't think so China will going to rise in near future as NATO countries are moving a head. Even if you see a market like ME which is now experiencing war and is putting a lot of money on buying weapons from West and even Asia. Might going to empty all of its reserve in the fight.

I really don't know how much reserves does ME countries have left of natural resources. People in Pakistan are now talking about that ME countries might be pulling out their money from Pakistan and Turkey which is a positive sign for all of us. Pakistan groups are quite strong in terms of money, they can easily buy up the ME assets. Also, local companies are now investing more and more in Oil, Gas, Coal and other natural resources of the country on their own.

THE U.S falls while China rise??lool Jeezzzz..........i can't believe some people are still saying this. The U.S isn't going anywhere i'm afraid. Afterall, the U.S.S.R. was a farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr more greater threat/had way more capabilties/influence(though all mainly militarily and less economical) than China has today or could ever have in coming decades. Yet the U.S never fell, what makes you think the U.S will fall today that it has even far more advantages/dominance/lead over any country on earth by a wide margin?? People should KEEP DREAMING though its not illegal yet.


NB: China is merely catching up to be honest, it still has a long way to go to even come close to U.S power/influence/technological lead/dominance. So China rising fast, doesnt in anyway means the U.S falls.lool

No, USSR wasn't. Cold war was an ideological war in which the communism was destined to lose, simply because it's against basic human nature as opposed to capitalism. Even thanks to communism, USSR wasn't able to make proper use of its scientific achievements and encourage further R & D. It was more a like a competition to win influence over a bunch of developing countries. Can you even imagine a developed capitalist country having a communist revolution? Not going to happen. However China's case is different. Today's wars are not ideological any more but economic and technology so that makes China as the first real competitor for the US since its foundation. China's size of population itself is enough to have an idea of how powerful it would be in a decade or two. So China is not just a player, it's the biggest player the world has ever seen.
