Jo bhi hai, they've done really well for themselves. They get upto this kinda shite here too but on a scale that's miniscule compared to China.
Take nVidia for just one example, they source the GPU (chip) itself from TSMC but assemble them in China. No cost benefit to Chinese consumers either, gfx cards are waay expensive there than the US or even Europe.. by the time they get to India with all of its import duties strapped on, even lower to mid range ones are 1.5 to 2 times the US MSRP.
What China, (and a lot of others, certainly India) want to do is get the tech for the forges, some of the most advanced technology anywhere on earth.
also.. @jamahir bhikari has designed a microprocessor in his slum, all by himself, even as a 10th fail.. lotsa talent in India.
