They have had an official war crimes tribunal and have collected facts of their own - also published by GoBD.

Now accept it or reject the numbers. But Pakistan today cannot claim that Pakistan Army did not conduct ethnic cleansing. It can however question the number of those killed.

What it can do is issue a formal statement of apology saying the numbers projected by BD are higher, but Pakistan still unconditionally apologises for the actions of its Army and any murders committed by them in BD. That is all it takes. If Pakistan is unwilling, so are the people of Bangladesh.

Most of Pakistanis want to normalize ties with BD and get it over with.

That is irrelevant. Most of Pakistani's also want India to give up Kashmir and for Iran to attack US.
What is relevant is whether most of Bangladeshi's want to normalize ties with Pakistan.

You really cant expect them to say - chal yaar, purani baat chodo when thousands, if not lakhs of their bretheren have been executed by Pakistan.

You think(rightly) that what Pakistani's think matters to how Pakistan conducts its Foreign Policy.

Similarly what Bangladeshi's think matters to how Bangladesh conducts its Foreign Policy. And Bangladeshi's have not forgotten, neither forgiven what happened. Yet you say India is preventing BD from progress with Pakistan. No Sir. Just like how Indians define India's path. Bangladeshi's define Bangladesh's path.
Im sure you can understand that without alluding to India.

Its easier to blame India than to accept that Pakistan's actions are the cause Bangladeshi's are not willing to move forward. Tender that apology, see how relations change. If you dont tender, then stop expecting them to forget what happened.

In addition to all of that, their economy is not at all dependent at all on Pakistan, neither do they have a shared culture with Pakistan. So there is no reason for them to rush on normalizing ties either.

The onus is on Pakistan.
