Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The land isn't named after any tribe. It's a Kingdom in Arabia ruled by Sauds Not Kingdom of Sauds. It can't be Kingdom of Arabia because Jordan isn't under our rule nor is Yemen, Iraq, Bahrain, Kuwait, UAE, Oman and Qatar. In Official papers I'm a Saudi Arabian not a Saudi.

In Arabia , kingdoms are named after tribes . Like Hashemite Kingdom , Emirate of Jabal Shammar , Idrisaid Emirate etc.

All these emirates were united under one banner and put the name Saudi Arabia.

Was it originally named after a tribe?

Was it originally named after a tribe?

It's named after the first King of Yemen,Yarab, the forefather of pure Arabs.

Most inhibitors of Arabia today however have no ancestry to Yarab and are a highly heterogeneous collection of peoples, with different ancestral origins and identities. They are called the Arabised Arabs, (Non-Arabs who mastered the Arabic language) who have ancestry to ancient semitic ethnicity such as Assyrian, Babylonian, Chaldean, Canaanite Or non semitic ancestry like the Egyptian . Prophet Muhammed (صلى الله عليه وسلم) believed he was an Arabised Arab.

I consider myself Arab for that I speak Arabic even though Yarab is not my ancestor. My ancestors spoke Aramaic and Akkadian before that. a Semite nevertheless.
