Pakistan not in the list?
'Europe' in your sentence should be 'U.S.'Europe has orderd Pakistan not to buy, while still buying themselves.
Beggers can't be choosers.Pakistan not in the list?
Exactly. Which is why Russia cant find an alternative market the size of EU for its gas and oil.China is very smart and keeps extremely cordial friendship with all oil rich countries, Russia, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Venezuela....China will never be that stupid like EU to put herself into such a tight bind.
IK is all talk. He has zero power to go against the establishment. He said he will not take any loans but ended up with most loans. In his 3 year tenure he took more loans than all his predecessors combined. He said Russia offered cheaper oil but it turned out to be a lie. He took loans and gave away subsidies on oil, gas and electricity which made it worse for Shabaz Sharif to reverse and set it right. When you take a loan, you use it wisely like on infrastructure projects which will give returns in economic activity or direct revenue to exchequer. Anyway he is gone and is unlikely to come back in near future. It is next generation which has to bear the brunt of his actions.@Olympus81
Pakistan not in the list?
Sadly not, with IK eliminated and an imported govt in place. Had IK been around it would be a different story.

EU loosing Russia will now be taken hostage by American LNG. Either way, EU looses. I would not be surprised next year EU scraps oil ban and resume flow of NG. Sanctions against major powers never work. Now imagine Russia loosing that market.
You would have to assume Russia is a major power in the first place. If it wasnt for nuclear weapons the world wouldnt even pay attention to Russia.EU loosing Russia will now be taken hostage by American LNG. Either way, EU looses. I would not be surprised next year EU scraps oil ban and resume flow of NG. Sanctions against major powers never work.
Actually China is the biggest trading partner in almost every country in the world, including EU and US, if EU is taken as a country. China is also the biggest trading partners by a huge margin with Japan and Korea, around half of Taiwan's total trade is with the mainland China, see, trade and business do not always make close friends and allies. Not to mention the EU and USA is the largest trade or investment partner of almost every country in the world. The US investment in EU and visa versa is 3-5 times higher than the US/EU investment in entire Asia.
I think you misinterpreted my statement which is figurative rather than 100% literal sense which can also be true due to politcal stranglehold. If EU bans Russian gas, EU will be 100% dependant on LNG imports and the risk associated with it. There's political risk (US/Qatar banning export to lower NG prices at home or a war such as libya), weather risk (hurricane season such as Katrina), fire/accidental risk (freeport), LNG feeder industry risks (ethane and cost of ethane production). It's a very complicated process. If we have a big accident anywhere, much like fukushima, environmentalist will be attacking LNG industry with a vengence. How does Europe benefit from this in the long term? You would have to assume Russia is a major power in the first place. If it wasnt for nuclear weapons the world wouldnt even pay attention to Russia.
Some of you dont seem to understand that North America and Europe are allies and have the largest trade and investment relationship and integrated economic relationship in the world. Not to mention the EU and USA is the largest trade or investment partner of almost every country in the world. The US investment in EU and visa versa is 3-5 times higher than the US/EU investment in entire Asia.
Nobody is taken hostage in a relation like that. Its just a made up russian propaganda
Exactly. Which is why Russia cant find an alternative market the size of EU for its gas and oil.
Europe is going to distance itself from Russia. There is no turning back. Putin completely miscalculated the situation this time, and no opportunistic move of his is going to reverse the shift in Europe.
Germany did close down most of the nuke plants so are dependent on LNG, so they have to import LNG from Russia.
are you sure Russia export LNG?Germany did close down most of the nuke plants so are dependent on LNG, so they have to import LNG from Russia.
As you noticed I said trade and investment partner. My guess is this map is based on chinese export.Actually China is the biggest trading partner in almost every country in the world, including EU and US, if EU is taken as a country. China is also the biggest trading partners by a huge margin with Japan and Korea, around half of Taiwan's total trade is with the mainland China, see, trade and business do not always make close friends and allies.
