Five Eyes English speaking countries America, Britain, Canada (which also has French as a second class official language), Australia, New Zealand. Has GPS, Boeing.

China + Russia eastern power alliance. Has Beidou + GLONASS, CRAIC + COMAC + UAC.

France + Germany western power alliance which dominates EU. Has Galileo, Airbus.

I say China + Russia because most talented and best manners.

This is a pretty weird poll. Powerful as in what?

If you are talking about geopolitical or military power, then US alone is enough to trump everyone else. In numbers and quality. Case in point.

Budget alone isn't indicative; look at KSA, they are 4th highest but are getting embarrassed in Yemen everyday and still rely on US hugely (and are very susceptible to the US simply refusing to supply spare parts etc).

US best in military? BS. US can't even keep its government open. US soldiers will not fight for a government that won't even pay them salary. As for best planes, best ships, best subs, best tanks, best helicopters, China is the place to go.

Budget alone isn't indicative. It is also not the only thing that the US possesses in this comparison though. I don't think that anyone can make an argument for another country having a more powerful military, really.

In any way you cut it, as long as we are talking objectively here.

Americans can't even fight a sandal wearing tribe. Powerful on paper, weak in reality. Military ain't the top criteria. I would say science and technology is the top criteria.

It would help if you edited the OP to state that there too.
Wouldn't change my vote though, since the first option still applies in that case (by any measurement, from nobel candidates to inventions, patent production, applied sciences etc etc).

I agree that the US is undoubtedly #1, I just wanted to point out the budget thing because you only mentioned budget.

Also @OP because "best manners" lmfao.

Last time Russia tried that, their country ended up broken.

There's much difference between fighting against guerilla warfare that has nothing to lose within a very mountainous and cavy environment, and fighting a conventional war with another power.
