I can't even begin to do you justice by describing the kill count of this little peashooter, but suffice it to say that it is responsible for EVERY MILITARY CASUALTY OF THE 20th CENTURY PAST 1914.

Yup. A bit sensationalist of me? No, this was the firearm that Gavrilo princip used to gun down the Austrian archduke, starting the chain of events that culminated not only in the Great War, but also the Second World War. Who knows how the 20th century would have played out if this gun had jammed? We will never know.

If you want to know more please check out a neat channel on youtube called Extra Credits. They did an episode that really captures the tragedy surrounding the assasination! The link I posted above had a really good article as well. Hope I helped, I just wanted to give my 2 cents before the experts arrived.

EDIT: Thanks for the upvotes and views guys! Im kind of a newb on this website, but it feels good to exchange information here ;) Also thanks for correcting me, the first draft erroneously claimed that this pistol was responsible for all 20th century conflicts but pre1914 there were plenty of wars too.

what about AK-47?

.
Guns don't kill us it's human that kills. A rifle won't shoot at you unless there is a human finger on trigger stop blaming guns

what about AK-47?

The AK-47 is a selective-fire (semi-automatic and automatic), gas-operated 7.62×39mm assault rifle, developed in the Soviet Union by Mikhail Kalashniko. The AK-47 was finalized, adopted and entered widespread service in the Soviet army in the early 1950s. Its firepower, ease of use, low production costs, and reliability were perfectly suited for the Red Army's new mobile warfare doctrines. Today, more AK-type weapons have been produced than all other assault rifles combined. The AK-47 was widely supplied or sold to nations allied with the USSR, and the blueprints were shared with several friendly nations (the People's Republic of China standing out among these . As a result, more AK-type weapons have been produced than all other assault rifles combined. "Of the estimated 500 million firearms worldwide, approximately 100 million belong to the Kalashnikov family, three-quarters of which are AK-47 s.
