China imported Russian engine for so long time and just started to clone them, even Russian claim the supercruise ability only on AL41 engine, not any other engines
So anyone can claim, but the proven engine performance is the most arguable evidence.

A Chinese engine is a must for security purposes. For a fighter with such sensitive technology, as well as heavy maintenance, having a single supplier is much more cost effective, as well as easy to maintain.

Btw, how many aircrafts tested with WS-13 ? How the thing going on?

No one should think about J31 & J20 as they both are far from completion & are still under study & on test flights. It will take another 10 years for both the aircraft to get ready & then we will know what both aircraft's are using.
