What's new

where will grounded A-5'S go?

You think like the Germans, quite innovative! I don't think the Pakistanis will buy your idea. Sending them to the pro-democracy forces in Libya won't be a bad idea, but then the question remains who'll fly them?

T-rax we have a test pilot for this crap idea name Yusuf Goebals...
Sir.Yusuf Goebals maximam range of A-5 aka Q-5 iz 1900km..less then our Shaheen 2 why waste money on such .....!

well we're not that rich, it wouldn't be bad if we could get a couple of million dollars for the whole fleet!

The point is, who is willing to buy aircraft that have already completed their service lives? Bangladesh is looking for jets from West and Russia and that too new ones; Iran is going for domestic ones, Sri Lanka may buy directly FC-1s from China; Burma already got new MiG-29s from Russia; Maldives doesn't have an air force.

It is best that you scrap the aircraft out. They served you well during your time and now they should retire with dignity.

i know they completed their life, but they can be sold for spare parts! Mayanmar air force uses more than 30 of these fighters. its impossible to sell all the aircrafts, but a few wouldn't be such a hurdle...
anyway its just a possibility...

Make them unmanned drones and control them using Chinese satellites. A5 carry decent payload. can be the cheapest way to have very powerful drones of next generation. Have them carry IRST and feed that information to AWACS and let AWACS fly them and carry strikes through them.

Ary Bhai . . . NEW Innovative Ideas Ki To Yehan Koi Importance Hi Nahi Hey . . . . Ha ha :bounce:

Bangladesh is intending to retire it's aging fleet of A-5s sometime soon. FC-1 is a likely replacement.
