Distance, even if two stars explode on the same day the one farthest away will take longer for us to to see it than the one that is closer. Also the farther away they are the dimmer the explosion will be.Here is my wisdom take on this
We have historic reference , in art and text , people who lived in past , not one has drawn an image or talked about an incident where a new "moon" started to shin as bright as day light
My question out of billion of stars in sky , I am sure 1 dies every day why don't they light up our skies
Celestial events are rare , and happen rarely
Perhaps it already exploded but the light of the explosion has not reached us yet
