With the launch of internet services - over the last 30 years it has become easier to do research and develop a picture of ant topic that you wish to research. I myself often read about the urge and desire Jinnah had of creating "Pakistan" and the need for a separate nation.
Have come across the first documented mention of the name Pakistan -
The name "Pakistan" was first used in 1933 in a political pamphlet called Now or Never. A Cambridge University student named Rahmat Ali came up with the name. The name is a combination of the many regions that make up Pakistan:
P - The "P" is for Punjab.
A - The "A" is for Afghania
K - The "K" is for Kashmir
S - The "S" is for Sindh
TAN - The "TAN" is for Balochistan.
This in itself suggests that even BEFORE the creation of Pakistan - the intent and desire of the people of the land was Kashmir was an integral part of the birth of the new nation - Pakistan. History records are frequently written by the victor of any conflict - hence the ability to paint the faults clearly at the feet of the defeated party. History shows the blame at Nehru and Mount Batten. The fact that Kashmir was clearly a Muslim majority seems to be overlooked - suggesting from the outset this would be a huge problem if not rooted out at the "beginning" or "creation" of Pakistan - and clearly it was.
We are where we are today and India creating a scenario where the UN has confirmed the latest restrictions imposed on Indian Kashmiris are deeply concerning and will exacerbate the human rights situation. India has decided to bury its head and Modhi has used Kashmir and the longstanding issue as a diversion of current mishaps and his drive to create a hostile passion amongst his supporters creating the obvious "boogeyman" - the " Muslamics".
My personal views are Kashmiri future needs to be decided by Kashmiri - not by Indians or Pakistani. I also am of the opinion that Kashmiri being shot blinded sexually assaulted and cut off from the world is an outrage.
I often think as a Pakistani and a Kashmiri of the Judgement of Solomon when thinking of the Kashmir conflict.
Solomon, King David's son, was required to decide which of two women was the mother of a baby, when each of them claimed parenthood. Both had recently given birth, but one child had died. The story is recounted in the Old Testament .
Solomon announced that the child should be cut in two, so that each mother should have half. The real mother, unable to bear her son being killed, immediately offered it to the other woman, to save the child's life, whereas the other agreed to the proposal. The false mother was thus exposed, and Solomon returned the living child to its real mother.
Indians not being able to accept that the fate of Kashmir should be decided by Kashmiri shows they are the false mother.
