When is Eid Ul Adha in UK ?

Is it Tuesday or Wednesday ?

According to The Sharjah Centre for Astronomy & Space Sciences in the United Arab Emirates, the holy holiday will start on Wednesday, August 22, 2018. However, the Umm al-Qura Calendar in Saudi Arabia says the festival will begin on Tuesday, August 21, 2018.

I have seen that some local mosques here are conducting EID prayers boht on Tuesday and Wednesday which seem confusing for example look at this

Following confirmation of a positive moon sighting on Sunday (12th) evening, the month of Dhul Hijjah commenced on Monday 13th August 2018 and Eid ul Adha will be on Wednesday 22nd August inshaaAllah.

We will also be providing Jamah for members of our congregation who follow the Saudi calendar, and will be celebrating Eid a day earlier on Tuesday 21st August.

Please note the timings as below:-

Tuesday 21st August
1st Jamah: 8am
2nd Jamah: 9.30am

Wednesday 22nd August
Jamah: 9am

Wednesday more suit to me but I am more concern which one is correct day
Family should have eid same day otherwise it spoil fun

Normally you should follow whichever mosque you go for your prayers.
But its not the end of Ramazan eid so its fine. I will do on Tuesday, My son on Wednesday... Choose your day.

I did Qurbani in UK only once. Paid money to butcher shop and next day came home with a bad of meat. Was pointless.
I have heard you can do Pakistani style qurbani on Private farms if you can pay the price, but have yet to find any such arrangement.

The correct day... Unfortunately our molvi make eid start with negativity .the issue is linked to when you see the new moon.

There are 2 ways of thinking. The first group believe in a global sighting, so any sighting anywhere is start of a new month. These guys will be doing eid on Tuesday based on Saudi sighting of moon (last week).

The other group think we should sight the moon ourselves. They were unable to see it, so completed 30 days of last month and so will be doing eid Wednesday.

Further confusion occurs where global sighting brothers always base it on Saudi sighting. Also sometimes Saudi claim to have seen moon when it was astrologically impossible.
Local sighting brothers will often accept sighting from. Morroco or South Africa (hardly local is it), but not Saudi.

God only knows who is right.

You are right about egos of Molvi who cannot unite on simple things which confuse followers
Saudia and UAE is having EID on different day which is strange

. YTou can see when was the new moon visible in your area and dcide accordingly.
I just go with the mosque as Islamic Sharia or jurisprudence is rather flexible in this regard.
