Whats behind Hezbullah's success ? Most of the armies in the middle east has nothing short of been a total failure from Egypt , to Iraq(which is improving now) to Syrian to other armies out there. Just want to know what makes Hezbullah different from these sad lot. Do they get special military training from somewhere else ? or is it simply their circumstances which they were formed in ?

Training, commitment, out of the box thinking

Years of experience which is vital, they even gave israel a bloody nose that that shocked both israel and its allies

You cant beat experience

Egyptian military is fine, as is Iranian

GCC is flush with cash and weapons and will learn from its Yemen experience

Problem is simple whether it be Syrian military or iraqi military or Libyan these militaries were made to keep their own population under control and beaten to ensure the dictators rule went on, not effectively take on external threats

Are you kidding me?
"Bloody nose"? Israel killed 750 Hezbollah members while only 121 Israelis died, Nasrallah didn't see daylight for over ten years. In the next war Israel will change its tactics entirely, not fighting against Hezbollah alone but fighting against Lebanon, the countries that support them and anyone that will oppose us

Strong motivation and the willingness to do the best.

You have to take into consideration Israel are using far more superior equipment. Such ratio is not something to brag about given the equipment u have.

That counts as a victory for them, south lebanon was completly destroied and they cried to the UN about casualties and now they count as victors, go figure.

You need to take into account that this is fightin in urban area, where missiles are shooted from within houses and mosques, while human shield is playing a big part in their tactics.
if Israel would play like those terrorists, lebanon wouldn't exist today

Hizbullah has had some modest success against its sectarian rivals and some debatable successes against Israeli forces but that is an unfair match. yes in Syria it has turned the tide against Saudi sponsored Al Nusrah & FSA that later become ISIS. but since it has been major concern for Israel so it is hated by it and targeted repeatedly and being shia also means that Israeli Arab allies like Saudis also hate it from sectarian point of view.

if success is measured by the length of its existence and constant support from its people then yet there is some success.

If your a six foot man with a sword and you take on a 8 year old child

You have a fight and after the fight you claim you won because you hit the 8 year old 10 times and he only hit you 5 times your kind of missing the point

Israel would still occupy southern Lebanon if not for Hezbollah
They were kicked out and in the last war vast areas if Israel came under attack, the Israelis being supplied the most sophisticated weapons were not able to defeat or destroy hezbollah just harm its iwn economy and draw international condemnation
