What Went Wrong With California's High-Speed Railway

It's not going to happen.

The cost to buy all the developed land to make the route straight and also make it earthquake-proof is too prohibitive.

Plus you have a public not interested in trains at all.

Spending 100's of $Billions for a system you will then have to beg people to use.

There isn't even evidence of an urgent daily need to travel between LA and San Francisco to justify a train.
