Even if the target had been a building made up of Jelly, the plane would have never penetrated up to its tail.
But then, one wonders at least, that what was the motive behind all that? Did they simply mean to topple governments, to kill / humiliate people in another parts of the world , as well as to compel other countries too to pursue undignified policies resulting in instability and chaos? And how it served the US interests? Or it was just initiated by war profiteers? Lots of questions need to be asked by US citizens.
