Malaysia has bought many Indonesian high tech defense product like CN 235 (Even they bought the planes where PT Dirgantara Indonesia get financially difficulty during Asian 1998 Financial crisis since it has to let go N-250 and other progam (N-2130) because IMF seems to hate the fact that Indonesia can build high tech defense industry by forcing our government at that time to stop injecting money into PT Dirgantara in which at that time were developing two big airplane project). Uni Emirate Arab is also another one that helps PT Dirgantara to survive during that period by buying several CN 235 in cash.

Malaysian government also bought simulators from PT TES for their Hawk and ACV 300 tank in the moment where even our Army and Air forces hasnt yet used PT TES products. They almost buy our APC as well. We can call one particular country in SEA as some what an enemy if they like to see our high tech industry to collapse, and it is surely not Malaysia ( at least their elite group )

i never say they should be regarded as Enemy. we don't hate them, yet we don't like them (you know the reasons) so it's that kind of relationship. you also need to know that most SEA countries doesn't like Malaysia either.

regarding UAE, yes i agree we should cooperate with them in any fields. this dates back from the times when Sultanates of Indonesia cooperated with Abbasid Caliphate.
